Wedding Bells Are Ringing

I can’t believe that engagement season hit so hard this year! I feel like everyone I know got engaged in the last 3 months, and I have to say I truly am very happy for them! It is such a blessing in life to find that perfect person who God created solely for us. It’s such an unbelievable thought that He knew even before we were created who we would be destined to start a life with one day down to the very second that that special person would get down on one knee and say the sweet words, “ Will you marry me?”
To quickly recap one of my best friends, Julie, the one who is C’s mommy, just got married on New Years Eve. I was shocked and definitely not prepared to find out that they decided to justgo to the courthouse and skip all the “smoke and lights” of a huge expensive wedding, but I am SOOO elated for the two of them. I love love love them both, and always will.

Julie and Lee
One of my high school best friends got engaged over Christmas and I am so happy to say (with a HUGE smile on my face) that she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids! YAY! I’ve been a flower girl multiple times in my life, a junior bridesmaid, and a wedding book attendant, but this will be the first time I’ll be a bridesmaid. I’m just getting to know John, and I’m over joyed to see Sara so happy in her life. I know that he’ll take care of her and be a wonderful partner to share her life with and to together grow closer to God.
Old friends from high school got engaged back in the summer and then January 3rd as well so the list just keeps growing.
Well, this whole thing has had me thinking. As my best friends and roommates know I love weddings. Basically every little thing about them. I love the colors, the decorations, that delicious food, the dresses, taste of wedding cake, the sweet little flower girls, the family, and all of the happiness that just exudes from the bride and groom. I buy wedding magazines, and just to be clear No I’m not engaged nor do I plan on it happening within the next 6 months. Life is busy for Ankoo and I both and we’re content to stick with the plan of steady jobs first, then marriage talk. It works for us( no worries, I hope that it is in the near future tho! I’d be flooded with tears of joy, but anyways!). I’m curious to get some FEEDBACK Please on what most people think is the right age to get married. A lot of y’all who I’ve started talking to on here are married and have started families, pretty large families, which is something that I long for one day, probably shortly after getting married. So did that play in to the age at which you felt you were ready to get married, or did your age even ever cross your mind when you started thinking about getting engaged? Thanks for all your help!
Enjoy the weekend! It always goes by too quick!

I have no wise words...I got married at 23. I don't think there is a magic marriage age...

Congrats to all your friends and congrats on being bridesmaid! (I am being bridesmaid again in March this year)

As a girl who's 18-year-old parents, after six months of dating, got married and had me nearly right after, I don't think there is any "right" age to get married.

I think when it feels right, it feels right and you just know.

I think for anyone who gets married you just have to believe "divorce is not an option" and it wont be an option...

Well, that's my two cents! ; - )

Love the blog.
