Dreamy Swing

A few weeks back this gorgeous tree still had an old fashion swing on it, perfect for a random photo op. I had no clue at the time I'd come back one day and the tree (which was dead) would be half chopped down :(

Out of all the photos taken that day I loved this blurry, slightly too light picture that just looked a bit dream..... So i played with it a bit and got this b&w....

THen I played with it a more, added contrast add a tad random color....

And Then... I just simply brightened up the photograph and got this little gem which I totally love!

To each their own!! Just thought I'd share them because I had fun playing around for a few hours!!
Have a wonderful day and get out there and take some dreamy photos of your own!!

P.S. I was the girl on the swing.. rare moment where I wasn't behind the camera! JL was the photographer.

National Geographic

I am utterly in love with National Geographic. If you ever wondered what type of photographer I dream of being all you have to do is flip through the pages of a National Geographic. One day in my life time I dream of shooting just one photograph good enough to grace the pages of such an awe inspiring magazine.

I get so much more joy out of photography than any other art because it's life in the flesh. It's not something that was dreamed up, it's tangible and honest, beautiful in every way possible.

You can capture every moment of life thru your lens.

Stop and find the beauty in each day this week.
Just take your thumb and pointer finger of both hands and make a rectangle with them. Bring it up close to your face, and mentally capture the photos in your life that you may be over looking.

Photography, Smotography!

"Where are all the pictures????"
I haven't put up any of my own photos in a good while because well... I just haven't taken very many!
It's certainly time to start back tho, don't ya think??
Or...I could just decide photography isn't my thing.
Just Kidding!!!
I love photography far too much to go that route, so I promise to get to uploading this week!!!
I promise some tasty, silly, and swoon-over shots coming up soon!
Can't wait to share them!
Hope everyone is having a sultry, sweet summer! Don't sizzle too long in the sun!!!

P.S. To all my NEW followers thanks so much for coming by!!! I am always grateful to new people who for some reason take an interest in my stories about me, my family, friends, and all the random things that are on my mind! A HUGE THANK YOU!!!

fPhoto Friday 2.0

After having so much fun with my photo yesterday, I decided to go back to Natalie's very first fPhoto Friday and review peoples photos from back in Oct. 08. I happend upon Ree's The Pioneer Woman Photography and was DELIGHTED to find that she has tutorials on HOW TO Use Photoshop! I've been digging all over google and hitting dead ends trying to find tutorials on how to use layers step-by-step or new ways to edit my photos instead of running over to picnik.com all the time. Don't get me wrong, I still picnik! I'm a Picnikin' fool, but I want to Leeaaarn how to be... good? atleast at editting my own photos. SO here is my photo of Kimber "my adopted son" back in January at Kiesel Park. We went to take pics.... and ended up layin on the ground and being slobbered on instead :) This was the only non-blurred (ie. Kimber didn't attack me with.."love" in this pic!) photo I took that day. So here is how I tried to switch it up a bit:

What do you think? If y'all use photoshops I'd love for suggestions! I'm learning so I know it's a little too red, but I'm trying to get a grasp on layers, hue/saturations, etc.

Love y'all! And thanks for stoppin' by! have a wonderful weekend!
