God Must Be an Auburn Tiger...
The saying in Auburn goes:
God must be an Auburn Tiger because the Sky is Blue and the Sunset is Orange!
Well... I reminded my mom of this last weekend ( who is actually in love with our Auburn Tigers as much as me) and her only comment back was, " Well... if he is a Tiger... he must be pretty upset with his team this year!" Followed my lots of laughs. She found it a whole lot funnier than I did! Gotta love her though!
Anyways, as many many of you know the biggest game of the season is on today at 3:30 Eastern time! The IRON BOWL between the Auburn Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide is the game everyone in SEC waits to watch all year long... well maybe it's not the biggest for everyone, but I have grown to think so in the last five seasons! I wasn't able to go to any games this year, but I was a true fan and watched as much of each game as I could stomach. We haven't had a perfect season, but you have to stand by your team when they have a 13-0 season and when they have a 6-6 season (hopefully after today! :) )
Yesterday I saw the most beautiful omen. My parents' home in Florida is right on a little lake where every morning we have bird sightings and gator sightings, but for the first time we saw a BALD EAGLE circling the lake!!! Even if it wasn't a good sign that we are going to win the game, it was still a reminder of God's beauty. Bald Eagles soaring has always been one of those peaceful beauties that I could watch for hours.
No matter who wins I hope none of the players on either team get injured today. It's such a heart-jerking game that sometimes things can get out of hand when emotions are running high!
Thought I'd leave y'all with a little flash back from the past that MAYBE we'll see happen again today!
Bo Jackson going over the top of the pile in 1982 to score the winning touchdown for Auburn!
Love y'all and WAR EAGLE!!

fPhoto Friday
Well... I have a few photos I took this week at the beach, but I found another that a friend took that I thought was just beautiful!
Here's mine first,

Here is the picture from my friend Caitlin's album. I'm not quite sure where she took the photo, but I thought it was a wonderful example of God's beauty. Caitlin is a girl that I went to school with at Auburn. She's one of those girls that you can tell has a beautiful heart when you meet her. She was in the Social Work program with me and has a great desire to change the world for the better. I'm sorry to say that I don't know exactly where her heart is, but if you have a moment in your day please just take a few minutes to pray for her. When I saw her picture today something just pressed my heart to pray for her.

God Bless~

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful thanksgiving and taking the time to take in every moment of the day! I cooked for about 6 hrs this mornings and I can't believe how quickly the day flew by! I feel so very blessed this year to be having thanksgiving with so many people that I love and love me back. God certainly is mighty and has blessed me and my family in so many ways. This whole year has been a year of learning to listen to Him, instead of just listening to myself, and knowing all along that His plan is so great than I can ever imagine. He is my Father, and I certainly learn from Him every day, even sometimes when I don't even realize it!
Enjoy this beautiful day and I'll see y'all around later!

My oh My its Beachy Time
I apologize for not blogging for DAYS, but vacation time in Florida came quickly and I have had a hard tiem finding time to blog! I'm so happy its Thanksgiving Week! I think the whole week is important, not just Thanksgiving Day. The whole week should be devoted to laughing and enjoying the blessing of family. My Thanksgiving Week is always somewhere away from home, which is okay with me because i'm happy whereever my family is!
This year my parents, one of my nephews (he's 2yrs older than me), my middle older brother, his girlfriend, and my boyfriend are all down here in FL at my parents new home. Its a smaller group than what we normally have, but I'm so happy to spend time with my nephew.
We've been playin' golf, going to the beach, laughing ALOT, watchin sunsets and eatting tons of yummy home cooked meals! Speaking of which, I have a whoooleee lot of cooking to start doing tomorrow morning. Gotta get started early so my mom and I don't have to wake at the crack of dawn on Thursday. Do you all start your cooking early or wait until thanksgiving day?? ALSO, What is y'alls FAVORITE Thanksgiving food you just can't wait to have a big spoonful of?? I can't wait for the.. squash dressing. It might sound strange but it is FANTASTIC. A great recipe that is really simple and delicious. I would love for some of yall to share your thanksgiving ideas with me! I love to collect new recipes every chance I get.
Here are just a few of the pics from this week so far:

Cooking.. For One
I loooove to cook.. but it's just not as much fun cookin' for just me instead of for Ankoo or for a big group of friends/family! Instead of getting down about spending a few days alone I decided to head to the store today and find me some new yummy holiday treats to make. My lovely boyfriend's grandma had a magizine last weekend with some great recipes in it, so I thought I just might get lucky and find it! Lucky me, there was one left!! The magizine is Taste of Home: simple & delicious Dec 08 and its a great one if you're lookin for easy recipes during this extremely busy time of year. I'm going to try out the Peppermint Meltaways tomorrow! I'll let you all know how the taste. Don't you just love the holidays?!
Peppermint Meltaways

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
Frosting:
2 Tbsps butter, softened
1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 Tbsps peppermint extract
2 to 3 drops red food coloring, optional
1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
In a small mixing bowl, cream butter and confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in extract. Combine flour and cornstarch; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Shape into 1in. balls, place 2in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350degrees for 10-12min. Remove to wire racks to cool.
In a small mixing bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Add the confectioners' sugar, milk, extract and food coloring if desired; beat until smooth. Spread over cooled cookies & sprinkle w/ crushed candies! Makes 3 dozenish
Thank you to everyone who has been stopping by to say hi! I can't wait to get to know you all more!

Love for my Tigers :)
Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I had a nice relaxing weekend down in Auburn with Ankoo and the girls. Unfortunately Auburn lost (barely) to UGA on Saturday, but it was an amazing game to watch! I know we’ve had a rough season (to say the least), but I’m still very proud of my Auburn Tigers for trying to fight in the midst of such a crazy year. It seems the whole SEC took a turn for the worst after the first couple games. It’s a miracle that AL and FL have kept on going for so long! Too bad Alabama’s winning streak has to end on the 29th!!! I know y’all are thinking its just wishful thinking, but all you UGA fans know that y’all almost beat Alabama yourselves, which means we have a chance of having a close game too!
I have to say… I may be an Alum now, but I still LOVE watching the Tigers play. It’s just so excited especially when they are playing here at home. Auburn is just one of those really awesome football towns. It was so much fun to live there for four years and have that experience every Fall. I’m happy to have graduated, but a piece of me misses waking up at the crack of dawn on Saturdays to get all gussied up and start tailgating long before the game begins. I love Tradition, and that’s certainly what Auburn is all about!
Nothing else real exciting went on… so tell me, what did you all do this weekend? Watch any great football games???
By the way! If you get a chance watch Jon and Kate Plus 8: The Wedding tonite at 8! It's going to be beautiful!
